I grew up in Delphi, and I am so proud of my hometown. I'm especially in awe of the folks who are working so hard to preserve the history and beauty of Delphi and Carroll County.
About me: BS and MS from Indiana University; 2 years working at Rider University, Trenton, NJ; 4 years working at U of Pennsylvania in Philly; 24 years with the U.S. Dept of Housing and Urban Development (Philly and DC). Retired in 2005.
Married Russ Harrison in 1984. Lived in Baltimore and Annapolis. Moved to Tucson in 2001.
No kids. Many dogs. Love living in Tucson, minutes from my sister Shelley and most of her adult children.
Published 12 books (so far) about the people of Carroll County, beginning with "The People on the Hill, "which I did as a Bicentennial Legacy Project.
I most recently published "Carroll County's Veterans," listing nearly 6,500 men and women who have lived in Carroll County and worn a uniform of the U.S. military and telling some of their stories. I donate copies of my books to the county libraries, the two high schools, the Carroll County Historical Museum, the Delphi Opera House Gerard Reading Room, and the Indiana Historical Society. Why do I write these books, I'm often asked. Because I became "me," growing up in Delphi. That place and those people taught me how to be a good person because they were (and are) good people. So now, I'm giving back.
In my heart, I'll always be a Delphi Gal.

I had Mr. Geheb in both 8th and 9th grade, and he remains one of my very favorite teachers. I remember being scared to death to look at the test scores when he posted them - he was a tough teacher. But I can honestly say that getting an A from Charles Geheb was one of my proudest accomplisments. He was a brilliant man and a great role model for his students, the kids he coached, and anyone who had the privilege of being around him. Well done, Mr. Geheb. Well done.
Thanksgiving photo with my family: l-r Shelley's daughter Melissa with her two children, Shelley's son Chris with wife Wendy and son, my hubby Russ, Shelley, behind Shelley is her son-in-law (Suzanne's husband) Scott with his son, me, Shelley's son Nick with his friend Jeannette, Shelley's son-in-law Eric (Megan's husband) holding his daughter, Megan, Suzanne (both expecting in 2019), and Shelley's hubby Wally in front.
Happy birthday, Carolyn!
